Directs large, cross-functional projects or programs in Marketing Operations that includes integration efforts, information management strategies, organizational change, systems upgrades, and process re-engineers to improve US Commercial's performance. These projects will be operational and broad-based, requiring collaboration across the US Commercial marketing teams, operations, information technology, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, key vendors, ad agencies and others. The position analyzes trends, makes recommendations and implements change management plans for business and system process improvements.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system by the following:
  • Knowledge and Skills: expert in US Commercial Marketing operations and allied department interdependencies. Possesses a broad understanding of overall US Commercial business, structure, and priorities and proactively set plans to meet evolving business needs.
  • Combines internal US Commercial knowledge with external environment understanding to evaluate vendor capabilities to meet business needs. In collaboration with cross-functional team members, is responsible for the discovery, design, configuration, and requirements for new systems or reengineering projects.
  • Leverage critical thinking/ problem-solving skills to devise innovative solutions. Proactively utilizes advanced creative and problem-solving skills to develop best practices for function. Lead collaborative efforts across a diverse customer and vendor base. Deliver complex information in ways that are easily understood.
  • Manage a diverse workload, multiple demands and competing priorities within the business environment.
  • Leadership role in the identification and coordination of value added process improvements for US Commercial Marketing Operations; Develop strategic plan for future phases of software integration/new programs that align with US Commercial's annual budget planning cycle.
  • Meet regularly with key stakeholders, executive sponsors, and working team members to ensure program oversight, maintain timeline and budget, and disseminate project status information on a routine basis. In collaboration with cross-functional team members, is responsible for the discovery, design, configuration, and requirements for new systems or reengineering projects.
  • Coordinates logistics for internal and external resources to ensure time efficiency and to meet internal client needs. Communicates timely and accurate information on project progress across functional teams to prioritize projects, meet project timelines and exceed quality standards .Develops and updates policies and procedures that reflect improvements/changes to Marketing Operations activities.
  • Effectively utilize all available resources, either within or outside of direct span of control, to manage diverse workload and maximize productivity. Ensure that project resources are secured in time to support work plans. Identifies and resolves any resource issues to maintain project timeline and goals.
  • Assist in managing program budget, including development of business and financial justification for key capital projects.

 

 

  • B.A./B.S./Business, Communications or Advertising (MBA not required, but desirable) or equivalent business experience within AbbVie or a related industry.
  • 8+ years of experience in project or program management.
  • 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven leadership competencies to include setting vision and strategy, building teams, knowing the business, driving for results, and encouraging open exchange of ideas and knowledge.
  • Strong, proven management experience across multiple functions including management of exempt personnel in fast-paced, service/team environment.
  • Highly motivated change agent that can drive business-focused solutions.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to distill highly complex requirements into compelling business objectives.
  • Strong problem solving abilities in complex, compliance regulated department .
