As the Senior Associate IS, Records and Information Management (RIM), you are a vital part of Amgen's Information Governance, Assurance and Compliance (IGAC) team. Given the significance of technology in handling information compliance in this digital age, this team is rightly positioned within Amgen's Information Systems (IS), Global Information Protection organization.

You are responsible for enabling information compliance and will directly report to the Business Process Owner and leader of the Global Information Management function. You will be required to efficiently collaborate with legal, privacy, compliance functions, IS service owners, engineers, and other Amgen internal partners to maintain, and improve Amgen's Information Compliance.

You will need to bring forth out of the box thinking, an agile mindset, strong work ethic, proven domain expertise and innate understanding of the required controls to empower Amgen's process and product owners to build and maintain process and systems solutions with compliance, by design. As the owners of information governance framework, we need to fundamentally rethink our approach to information governance, record keeping principles, risk management, business engagement, operations and staff skills to meet these challenges. You will be part of that efficient and effective operating model.

You will bring the willingness and agility to pick up technical concepts, ability to work closely with Information Systems partners, Amgen's legal teams and RIM leadership in both Tampa, FL and Thousand Oaks, CA to improve, enhance and modernize records and RIM capabilities, information security and business confidence.

Key Activities of the Senior Associate RIM IS Analyst:
  • Acting as subject matter expert for industry-leading information management tools, will be responsible for technical and business analysis that supports: implementation of advanced classification, labeling, handling, and protection systems that cover unstructured content
  • Partner with the cyber security team to identify evolving data protection risks, threats trends, and tools while closely working with technical teams to identify compliance and information management improvements for enterprise content management and collaboration systems
  • Identify business patterns used for content creation, then translate patterns into standardized solutions while partnering with IS Business Analysts to implement those resolutions, based on functional specifications, for clients
  • Drive user adoption through continuous improvement of tools and processes while engaging business partners to build solutions following IS methodologies as well as records management standard methodologies
  • Champion Amgen technology advancement by means of frequent interactions, demos, and understanding of core business functions, working with vendors to comprehend, then develop joint roadmaps and strategies
  • Independently identifies, assesses and resolves technology and process issues while interacting with Information Security, Identity and Access Management, GAC teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and optimized to protect company information


Basic Qualifications

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Management experience

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of Information Management experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Information Management experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Management
  • Experience working with legal organizations or as a Para Legal
  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst managing small to medium-sized security related, information management projects with toolsets supporting: data classification, labeling and protection of unstructured content
  • Demonstrated formal technical support and customer success management experience with a technology company while exhibiting strong communication, advisory skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical expertise relevant to information management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, document, lead, and communicate processes then, follow accepted IS policies and standards while working independently and providing recommendations on strategies
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation, work planning, a troubleshooting aptitude, and multitasking using intellectual curiosity to collaborate actively with thought partners across functional areas
  • In depth understanding of software development lifecycle and the ability to assess new technology capabilities as they present themselves in the market with a proven capacity to move products from Demo and Proof of Concept to Pilot and Production quickly
  • Experience delivering new technologies, mitigating risk and delivering innovation while developing training programs designed to educate end users about basic and specialized applications in a dynamic team environment
