Associate Business Systems Analyst

Amgen is seeking an Associate Business Systems Analyst who will be based onsite at its corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA. The Associate Business Systems Analyst will be a critical member of the Law and Corporate Compliance client facing Information Systems team, developing solutions to address critical business needs. The systems business analyst will be a key contributor in designing and building secure, scalable solutions. You will collaborate with the development teams and external suppliers to deliver, operate and continuously improve solutions in a manner that is scalable, secure, and aligns to best practices.

Key responsibilities:

• Contribute to requirements management, process design, and software implementation
• Engage business users to analyze business needs, elicit, refine and document business and solution requirements
• Craft business process analysis artifacts, including use cases, stories, process flows, project schedules
• Work with cross-functional representatives across business partners to align processes
• Work with development team by translating business requirements to technical specifications
• Execute all facets of testing (e.g. Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Functional Testing, System Testing, Usability Testing, Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing, Beta Testing)
• Provide critical thinking and strategic discernment to resolve significant technical challenges
• Work with and or adapt to multiple project methodologies (e.g. Agile, Rational, Waterfall)
• Build productive working relationships with business clients

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

OR

Associate's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field
• Clear understanding of requirements management and business processes design
• Working knowledge of AWS and Salesforce
• Experience in or ability to learn high level programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Visual Basic, .NET
• Experience programming in compiled (C, C++) and interpreted languages (Python, Ruby etc.)
• DevOps experience building and deploying infrastructure with cloud deployment, build and test automation technologies like ansible, chef, puppet, docker, jenkins, etc.
• Understanding of and ability to work in Agile teams (SCRUM)
• Great teaming skills encompassing multi-functional teams, peer relationships, informing, understanding and appreciating differences
• Ability to follow to SOPs, methodologies and policies
• Self-starter with a high degree of initiative
• Highly motivated and able to work effectively under minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to set the context and present on complex subjects in a clear and concise manner
