The Formulation and Drug Product Group at Seattle Genetics is seeking a Research Associate to participate in the development of our portfolio of immune-oncology products. The department is part of a multi-disciplinary CMC group that handles both early and late phase programs on small molecules, antibodies and antibody drug conjugates. We are looking for an individual who is excited to be part of an ambitious growing company, and someone who really wants to grow in a meaningful to handle responsibilities in all facets of IND/BLA programs including: formulation, analytical sciences, drug product sciences, clinical administration, quality, manufacturing and tech transfer.

Summary:
  • Conduct experiments and analyze results leading to the development of robust formulations for small molecules and biologics, including antibody and antibody drug conjugate (ADC)
  • Characterize excipient, drug substance and drug product formulations and stabilities throughout the life cycle of the programs
  • Contribute to the writing of technical reports. Develop technical skills to become a quality-centric subject matter expert. Learn drug product development in CMC, and present effectively in cross-functional meetings on program progress
  • Formulation and Drug Product Sciences is a multi-disciplinary patient-centric subject that is rooted in chemistry that extends to manufacturing and clinical experience. Subject matter experts in analytical sciences, quality, clinical sciences and other CMC-related areas are encouraged to apply


Requirements:
  • BS or MS in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, biological sciences or a related discipline
  • 0-3 years (MS) or 3+ years (BS) of protein formulation or analytical experience in the academic setting or biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to function as a team player with compassionate, clear and strategic written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with extreme details, including managing laboratory activities, data for filing submission and program deliverables and timeline
  • Technical skills on chemistry, protein structure and analytical .methods. Some hands-on experience with protein characterization techniques (e.g. SEC, RP, CEX) and electrophoretic (e.g. CE-SDS, icIEF) techniques and other analytical methods. Small molecule working experience would be a plus
  • Experience working in GMP/GLP environment would also be beneficial
