The Bend the Curve - Shaping the Value and Access Ecosystem Senior Project Manager is a US role in Global Health Economics (GHE) - part of Amgen's broader Global Value Access and Policy (GVAP) organization.

As Amgen looks to promote alternative payment models in important therapeutic areas, states are starting to embrace long-term models to improve patient outcomes. Amgen hopes to partner with a strategic State starting with post-fracture care. As such, this candidate will engage with multiple functions at all levels across Amgen to ensure cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will be working closely with the initiative Lead and under the direction of the Lead and initiative Steering Committee to actively engage with the State and other potential partners to manage access, payment, and policy deliverables, including a partnership agreement with the State and a detailed plan for the payment program that would be a new model focused on delivering high-value post-fracture care in a bundled payment/global payment system.

This role will be based at Amgen's corporate headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California.

Responsibilities include:

Execute robust and efficient processes, including Steering Committee meetings and related logistics, external engagements, payment model design coordination, and governance processes.

Work closely with Steering Committee to develop and manage high quality, integrated, cross-functional timelines/plans and budget to meet project needs.

Provide cross-functional leadership by partnering with key stakeholder functions and through effective team management. Facilitate team meetings and key communications in accordance to established processes, including detailed notes of meetings.

Ensure alignment of deliverables with overall strategy, including strategy meeting support, partnering with stakeholders/vendors, active risk management as it relates to timelines, communication planning. Lead risk and issue identification and mitigation for key risks.

Create implementation plans with milestones and KPIs, prepare metrics and reporting tools that document ongoing project progress and activity (status slides/dashboards). Develop appropriate communication mechanisms and keep relevant functions informed of initiative activities, including creating background materials and updates for senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of project management experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of project management experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of project management experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of project management experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of Project Management experience in the commercial (sales/marketing/access) area within the pharmaceutical industry

Knowledge of healthcare payment programs and models, and quality measurement and reporting

Knowledge of state government affairs and state healthcare budgets

Knowledge of the Amgen Commercialization process, teams, and working practices

Strong background of developing timelines, key communications, meeting facilitation, stakeholder management, risk management

Experience working in a complex matrix environment and ability to provide structure when needed

Good critical thinking, analytical skills and attention to detail

Strong communication skills (written and spoken)

Diplomatic communication style working across different cultures

High level of professionalism, initiative, enthusiasm and ownership

Able to work across multiple time zones
