Fluidigm is looking for a Vice President, Commercial Operations to direct and manage the Americas sales organizations. The successful candidate will be personally motivated to exceed ambitious growth targets. They will have an innate ability to balance strategic and tactical commercial plans for Fluidigm products and services while delivering a world-class experience to existing and new customers, including biopharmaceutical companies, CROs, clinical laboratories, diagnostic companies, and ag-bio companies.

Description:

  • Develop and direct the America sales organization to build the opportunity pipeline, meet sales targets, provide accurate forecasting and ensure proper budget/expense management. 
  • Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate direct reports and manage performance issues. Enhance commercial leadership capabilities required for continued growth and commercial expansion. 
  • Produce bi-weekly sales forecast with six-month visibility to opportunity “pipeline”.
  • Meet quarterly revenue goals aligned to the overall department and corporate objectives.
  • Develop and implement sales processes, work mix expectations, and metrics to measure achievement as required to ensure scalable business growth and market penetration.
  • Participate in scientific conferences, field marketing efforts and related field support activities.
  • Lead business development activities including co-marketing arrangements and alliances with strategic partners; lead product development activities based on interaction with key customers.
  • Develop and implement training programs for customers. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service; ensure customer satisfaction is achieved when made aware of customer/product issues and complaints; provide input on customer satisfaction efforts. 
  • Travel within the Americas to conduct field sales calls and related activities to understand markets, refine processes, and develop team members.
  • Engage in expanded responsibilities as required by the business in support of continued company development/growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree (i.e. Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, etc.).
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience directing a group of high achieving sales professionals in the life science tool industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the biopharmaceutical industry and in particular the immuno-oncology market.
  • In-depth understanding of the clinical market, including FDA and CMS regulations. 
  • Demonstrated track record of b2b sales and strategic collaborations with biopharma.
  • Proven capability to create, organized, develop, and lead a high growth and highly effective commercial organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrate an executive presence.
  • Ability to be independent, resourceful, and self-directed.
  • Strong presentation, organizational and communication skills.
