Summary
The Metabolic and Muscle Disease Group at Regeneron is committed to discovering novel targets and innovative medicines to treat diabetes, obesity, dyslipidemia and muscle diseases. We are seeking someone with strong command of molecular biology, biochemistry, in vitro assay development, and in vivo pharmacology to help advance the metabolic and muscle antibody project portfolio and provide validation for new projects. The candidate would be responsible for providing scientific direction, technical expertise and leadership, coordinating activities with project teams and other groups across the organization.

Responsibilities
Identify novel approaches and targets for drug development. Design and perform in vitro and in vivo studies for new target validation and to support antibody-based drug development.

Technical skills
Broad experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, in vitro assay development and in vivo pharmacology is essential.

Management Responsibilities
Responsible for providing lab direction, technical expertise and coordinating activities with other groups at Regeneron. Participates in staff development, resource allocation and performance management.

Experience and Required Skills
PhD or MD with strong scientific credentials, known and respected in his/her field of research. Effective communicator. Candidates with expertise in metabolic disorders are preferred.
Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of a PhD and/or MD, with at least 5 years of research post-PhD. Additional requirements include:

• Strong scientific credentials.

• Knowledge of state-of-the art technologies and approaches to support drug discovery programs.

• Strong command of academic or applied research efforts, scientific literature, and knowledge of key opinion leaders in the area.

• Candidates with expertise in metabolic or muscle disorders are preferred.

This position will require the individual to pass a physical before beginning employment.
