#GOEXPONENTIAL

Fueled by equal parts scientific vision and determined passion, we are delivering unprecedented innovation to short-read sequencing technologies and transforming how genomic information is accessed. You will feel the 10x difference the moment you enter our offices and labs. There's a dynamic energy here, and we're looking for the best of the best to be a part of it. We are seeking talented professionals excited to build new technology that advances scientific research while growing their career within a dynamic, supportive environment.

We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our Computational Biology group. You will work at the intersection of Computational Biology and Immunology to perform analyses and develop methods to drive forwards our understanding of immunological processes at unprecedented scale and resolution.

You will work closely with talented and highly motivated biochemists, microfluidics engineers, chemists and software engineers as we continue to develop our immunology-focused products and use them in exciting and novel ways. Your work will involve questions in the areas of antigen receptor repertoires and specificities whilst also covering other areas of immunological research.

You will develop new methods to analyse and interpret Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data from our assays. You will also apply these methods to datasets that we generate ourselves or with collaborators. You will provide input into the development of the next generation of Immunology solutions at 10x.

You have a deep background in adaptive immunology and immune repertoires alongside strong computational and analytical skills. You are a good programmer who can take an idea and quickly implement it in code. You understand the complexities inherent in immune repertoires and enjoy the challenge of addressing them. You know how to design an analytical approach to get the best from a dataset. You are able to communicate your ideas and work effectively with an interdisciplinary team and incorporate their feedback into your analysis. You are a strategic thinker, highly motivated, action driven and flexible in changing direction and methods. You thrive in a fast paced environment, excel at managing multiple priorities, communicate clearly and get the job done.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop computational methods for the analysis of data from 10x's immunology-focused assays
  • Use novel and existing methods to analyse immunological datasets
  • Provide expertise and input into immunology product development
  • Work with internal teams and external collaborators

Required Skills and Background
  • PhD or MS plus equivalent experience in a quantitative field (e.g. biology, bioinformatics, computational/systems biology, physics, mathematics, computer science)
  • Experience working on problems involving antigen receptor repertoires
  • Ability to quickly conceive and implement custom computational methods and algorithms and apply them to large data sets
  • Strong programming ability in a language such as Python or R
  • Experience using computational methods to extract insight from large datasets
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas with an interdisciplinary team
  • Has experience with the analysis of NGS data
  • Ability to work independently

Desired Skills and Background
  • A deep intuition for the processes utilized by current NGS technologies
  • Creative problem solver who obsesses over finding useful information in data
  • Hands on experience with single cell immune repertoire data
  • A combination of analytical rigor with a healthy respect for the imperfections inherent in real-world data

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability.
