Summary:
The Associate Director of Market Access Strategy is a critical role on a fast-paced, energetic Market Access team. This team member will be responsible for assisting in development and implementation of market access strategies and plans and leading certain payer segment strategies as appropriate for EYLEA (aflibercept) Injection. Primary responsibilities consist of leading and/or assisting in development, implementation and follow-through of market access initiatives and tactics. Additionally, this individual must maintain a high-level of collaboration and integration with Brand Marketing, Training, Trade, Market Research and all field teams (Payer, Reimbursement, and Sales).

We will provide training on EYLEA and its indications, our processes and how to work through our cross-functional teams and agency partners. However, it is expected that the ideal candidate will bring exceptional project management and communication skills, a strong business acumen and functional expertise to hit the ground running. The candidate should be comfortable working independently and with autonomy to make recommendations which could impact the development of market access strategies, initiatives and tactics.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute Market Access strategies and tactics for the Regeneron ophthalmology business unit

• Own certain payer segment strategic plans, as appropriate. Responsible for development of segment plan and execution.

• Contribute to the development of annual EYLEA Market Access brand strategies and planning

• Contribute to and/or lead the development of market access launch strategies and tactical plans for potential new indications and administration delivery device

• Development, production management and implementation of tactical components of Market Access Strategy to support payers and field personnel including but not limited to:
o Payer resources, initiatives and partnership opportunities
o Print and digital market access promotional materials
o Non-personal initiatives and media campaigns
o Field team workshops / training

• Provide meeting planning support and develop resources for conventions, speaker events, ad boards, POA meetings, etc.

• Manage updates and inventory allotments for all Market Access resources and manage field support issues related to market access materials

• Monitor payer coverage data for EYLEA and lead pull and push through efforts with the field

• Help facilitate regular HCP Market Access Steering Committee meetings and partner with Medical to understand where and how to optimize market access initiatives and tactics

• Represent the Market Access team in Regeneron Internal Review Committee.

• Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Regeneron activities.

Requirements:

• Applicant must have excellent organizational and communication skills. This includes demonstrating an understanding of how to escalate issues/concerns, and effectively communicate with others, especially those in other functional areas.

• Ability to comprehend complex brand strategies and help identify opportunities to employ them

• Previous experience with product management/payer/reimbursement marketing is necessary. Launch and buy and bill experience is a plus.

• Demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. healthcare systems, including expertise in health care financing and reimbursement policies related to the pharmaceutical industry, with application in a wide array of clinical settings and reimbursement strategies in all market segments.

• Clear understanding of the implications of payer and reimbursement policy impact on prescriber and patient behaviors as well as sales force activity.

• Ability to execute tactical plans while managing multiple projects simultaneously and excellent ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

• Ability to work on teams and independently, multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment

• Ability to work cross-functionally and with all levels of the organization

• Must be willing to travel approximately 25-30%

• Must be willing to travel on weekends to conferences and meetings, as needed

• High degree of professionalism, ethics and honesty with the ability to serve as a credible and passionate champion for the Regeneron ophthalmology franchises

• Bachelor's Degree required

• 10+ years of "progressive" industry/relevant professional experience

• 7+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech market access or related experience

• Preferred areas of experience include reimbursement/managed markets marketing experience, managed care account management, or brand marketing

• Ophthalmology (Retina) experience a plus

• Biologic/self-injectable experience a plus

• Prior experience developing and managing budgets and timelines

• Science background preferred

• Biotechnology or small specialty pharmaceutical marketing experience desired
