The Manager of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting role at Regeneron is a great opportunity to work closely with many different departments (e.g., General Accounting, Business Development, Tax, Legal, Treasury, Finance) and senior management to review agreements, perform accounting research, draft our SEC filings and work on various projects. Since the company is continuously changing, you will be exposed to numerous new accounting transactions and encouraged to think critically to propose suggestions on the appropriate accounting treatment. You will continue to develop your technical accounting knowledge and assist with researching guidance within U.S. GAAP. You will also play an integral part in ensuring the company's financial statements and related disclosures are complete and accurate. Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
  • Effectively researching accounting (under U.S. GAAP, IFRS, or other reporting frameworks) for new, complex, or unusual transactions, and be able to communicate/document the Company's accounting treatment for such transactions.
  • Reviewing contracts to determine proper accounting treatment.
  • Responsible for preparation and/or review of financial information and disclosures in the Company's publicly filed information, including 10-Qs/10-Ks, Earnings Releases, Proxy Statement, statutory financial statements, etc.
  • Working directly with various personnel, including members of senior management, in other departments to obtain information necessary to ensure accurate disclosures in the Company's financial statements.
  • Maintaining and "owning" excellent working relationships with various members of management from other departments, including General Accounting, Legal, Tax, Finance, Treasury, and Business Development.
  • Preparing and updating accounting policies and internal controls documentation.
  • Assisting with other ad hoc projects, such as performing research on peer companies, implementation of new accounting standards, etc.
  • Supervising, coaching, and reviewing the work of others.
  • Liaising directly with external auditors on a number of matters, including discussing proposed accounting for complex transactions as well as their review/tie out of the financial statements.
  • Ensuring that all internal control policies and procedures are followed.
  • Providing suggestions and support for process improvements/efficiencies.

  • Four+ years of accounting/technical accounting experience.
  • Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards is a plus.
Additional you must have strong organizational and project management abilities, attention to detail, and accuracy are critical in this position. Team player. Must demonstrate the ability to think creatively and independently to solve problems, complete projects, and effect operational improvements. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Can effectively communicate in group settings. Performs job duties under minimal daily supervision.
