Paragon Bioservices is a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) whose focus is the development and manufacturing of cutting-edge biopharmaceuticals. We provide industry-leading GMP development and manufacturing services for cutting-edge biopharmaceuticals such as recombinant viral vectors, next generation vaccines & hard-to-express recombinant proteins and oncolytic viruses. Paragon's scientists, engineers, quality experts, manufacturing operators and program managers are experts working with biologics from research and process development to GMP manufacturing for clinical trials and commercial launch.

The Associate Scientist - Analytical Development is actively engaged in a product development within a dynamic project team. They are encouraged to start taking a leadership role in terms of a specific discipline or expert i.e., assist in moving projects forward toward clinical trials, registration or post-registration line extensions.

Key responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge/expertise should be practical and focused on Capillary Electrophoresis including SDS-MW and cIEF.
    • VLP vaccines, Viral Vector based gene therapies and Nanotechnologies
    • Protein biochemistry (protein degradation, aggregation, etc.)
    • Instrument care, maintenance, troubleshooting and data interpretation.
    • Document writing (STM), data interpretation, presentation, DoE, statistical analysis and trending.

Project Responsibilities

  • Implement knowledge/expertise within a lab group/project team to successfully execute specific aspect of a project. This should involve a complement of technical and logistical/strategic activities.
    • Execution of in-process and release assays, in support of process development and GMP manufacturing.
    • Interacting with appropriate upstream and downstream functional areas (cell culture, purification, clinical, regulatory, etc.).
  • Activities are to be carried out efficiently in a scientifically rigorous manner.


Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in a science field
  • 1-5 years experience in an analytical/assay development role with some or all of that experience focused on Capillary Electrophoresis including SDS-MW and cIEF
  • The ability to work in team oriented environment is essential, as this person will work closely with other members of Drug Development Group and participate on multidisciplinary project teams.
