Job Description
Amunix Operating Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on individual to join our Research and Discovery group in the role of Senior Scientist, Protein Analytics. The candidate will conduct independent bench work to support analytical method development and quality control activities for Amunix’s biotherapeutics. He/She must have a strong initiative and desire to work in a fast paced, team-oriented, dynamic environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Lead analytical characterization of products, standards and purification intermediates
- Serve as technical resource for analytical method and product quality issues
- Maintain and troubleshoot current analytical instruments
- Prepare SOPs, protocols, scientific reports and technical documents for external presentations
- Identify new analytical technologies to improve characterization of biotherapeutics
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Protein Chemistry, Biochemistry or related fields with 3+ years of hands-on laboratory experience, preferably in the biotech/biopharmaceutical setting
- Hands-on experience with HPLC (size exclusion, reverse phase, hydrophobic interaction), SDS-PAGE, capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, dynamic light scattering, and other relevant analytical methods for protein characterization
- Strong scientific background in protein analytics and protein drug development
- Ability to think critically and creatively to identify and solve scientific problems
- Experience with operating under GMP’s and CRO/CMO’s management is a plus
- Understanding of protein purification, cellular fractionation and biological sample processing methods is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, communicate clearly and effectively and build open and collaborative relationships is essential
- Strong interpersonal aptitude and excellent oral and written communication skills
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work at the lab bench for extended periods of time
