Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager of Data Analytics and IT (Information Technology) Audit who will work out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL and who will report to the Director of Corporate Audit. The Senior Manager of Data Analytics and IT Audit, internally known as a Senior Manager of Corporate Audit, will be responsible for designing and executing the technology and data analytics strategy for the audit group, driving the data analytic integrated audit methodology within our audit process, and overseeing technology and functional support audits (SOX and non-SOX). Further, the Incumbent will be responsible for partnering cross functionally to implement data solutions that will provide robust insights to the business. This includes creating processes for receiving and transferring data to and from various business partner systems, transforming and combining data from various sources, designing schemas for the data, developing critical metrics, and delivering reporting solutions. Additionally, the Senior Manager of Data Analytics and IT Audit must be capable of interfacing with all levels of the organization to achieve success.

This position is part of the IS Audit team, consisting of several information system auditors, who perform system and IT process audits on their own as well as support business process auditors.

Responsibilities of the Senior Manager of Data Analytics and IT Audit Include:
  • Works collaboratively with IT teams, internal business partners and external vendors to identify, understand, implement and support new business capabilities around business intelligence while ensuring alignment to Amgen's business strategy and overall IT data strategies
  • Drives development and implementation of data analytics access strategies across the audit portfolio
  • Leverages all available resources (e.g., compliance, IT, regulatory, commercial) to develop and implement tactical plans and identify and overcome data access barriers
  • Designs and develops processes to extract data received from various internal and external sources, transform them into meaningful data elements relevant to the business, combine various data elements, and load them into various types of database schemas
  • Analyzes data to identify and implement new data and reporting solutions that provide meaningful insight to improve effectiveness of the audit planning and execution across our audit universe
  • Analyzes business needs, develop metrics, as well as designs and develops reporting solutions to make the metrics available to the audit team and business users
  • Manages the end-to-end project and delivery of results, to develop audit prototypes as well as production-ready data and reporting solutions
  • Manages and drives efficiencies around the use of technology solutions within the audit methodology and related processes
  • Executes Annual Audit Plan (SOX and Non-SOX) as approved by the Audit Committee
  • Provides leadership, guidance and coaching to audit staff in the execution of the Audit Plan and to achieve audit goals and objectives
  • Discharges responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with The Institute of Internal Auditors' Code of Ethics, Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Statement of Responsibilities or Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)
  • Travel up to 25% per year


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems Analytics and/or Audit experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Information Systems Analytics and/or Audit experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Information Systems Analytics and/or Audit experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems Analytics and/or Audit experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems Analytics and/or Audit experience

AND

2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant IT and/or business experience working in the pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare industry, particularly within audit or consulting sectors
  • Experience with SAP, MS SQL Server, or other databases
  • 5+ years of experience with using healthcare or specialty pharma data (distribution, reimbursement, safety, clinical, etc.), and the ability to analyze data to understand complex healthcare business processes to develop meaningful and develop various technology solutions
  • Experience working with various types of ETL software directly or indirectly related to business intelligence solutions
  • Familiarity with analytics, visualization, and reporting solutions (prior experience with Alteryx and Tableau a plus)
  • Strong visual presentation skills (e.g. visual design principles; graphic design, layout, typography, and color)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of database concepts, including building relationships between tables, grouping data, and producing cohesive analyses
  • Experience with using SQL/PL-SQL language a plus
  • Experience with emerging data / cloud storage solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and succeed in a highly matrixed environment
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and able to multi-task
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, demanding and dynamic work environment; and
  • Advanced certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or CPA
