Job Details
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects
- Make detailed observations, analyzes data and interprets results
- Investigate, create and develop new methods and technologies for project advancement
- Maintain high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature
- Participate in scientific conferences and contribute to scientific journals
- Be responsible for identifying patentable inventions
- May act as principal investigator in conducting own experiments
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in a field related to biomedical research (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education). Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
- In addition to the educational requirements, a minimum of eight (8) years related biomedical experience
- Detailed knowledge of vaccines, immunology, and virology
- Expertise in tissue culture and immunological/virological techniques, including:
- aseptic techniques, cell line maintenance, production of plasmids and virus-like particles, western-blot, ELISA, Luminex assays, flow cytometry, virus neutralization assays and PCR
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MS in immunology, vaccinology, virology or molecular biology
- Experience in HPV research
- Experience in assay development and validation under GCLP or GLP environment.
- Experience with large data sets, statistics, software tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with robotics
- Knowledge of the regulatory requirements in vaccine development
