Senior Associate Scientist - Inflammation Research

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join the Inflammation Research Therapeutic Area at Amgen in South San Francisco to drive the discovery and validation of novel targets in inflammatory and autoimmune disease for the development of innovative medicines.

The candidate will be an integral member of the research team, collaborate with research scientists at multiple Amgen sites, and work closely with teams in other functional areas including Therapeutic Discovery, Medical Sciences and Computational Biology.

In this position, the individual is expected to make major scientific laboratory-based contributions to the research goals and milestones of the Inflammation therapeutic area. Specific responsibilities include planning and performing laboratory experiments, preparing and analyzing biological samples, analyzing data and communicating results.

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree and 3 years of scientific experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Innovative and interdisciplinary approaches towards identification of mechanisms driving disease pathogenesis and novel targets

Knowledge of Immunology and/or respiratory biology

Hands on experience in working with biological samples
