Summary
Regeneron is currently seeking a talented and motivated Automation Associate to join the Automation Technologies group. The Automation Associate will be responsible for implementation and execution of new and current automated devices and integrated systems. In addition, this will include programming new methods and updates, software and driver development, and design and creation of custom parts and devices to support automation.
Successful candidates will be well versed in the latest automated technologies, have a hands-on aptitude and be willing to work in fast paced team-oriented environment.
Preferred experience should include:
-Programming experience in C#, Python, Python, Ruby, C, C++, VB etc.
-3D Modeling and 3D Printer usage experience
-Experience with firmware, microcontrollers, circuit design
-Programming experience with automated liquid handlers such as Hamilton STAR, Beckman Biomek FX, Tecan Fluent
-Experience and knowledge of various devices necessary for research laboratory integrations
Responsibilities
• Develop custom software and drivers for automated systems and devices
• Design, model, and 3D print custom parts, labware, and fixtures to support R&D
• Performs activities related to design, commissioning, performance improvement, and troubleshooting
of automation technologies
• Provides technical and automation operational support to Research and Development facilities
• Implements software/hardware changes and upgrades, understands impact of actions to R&D
• Implements modification/change to established procedures and protocols
• Programs liquid handlers and supporting devices
• Capable of troubleshooting and demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and controls
• Work with scientists to develop novel approaches through automation
• Train users to operate new equipment and extend an ongoing support
Requirements
B.S or M.S. in Science/Engineering or related field with relevant automation experience. Knowledge of liquid handlers and integrated systems. General molecular biology and cell culture skills are a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills.
Hands-on experiences and trouble-shooting proficiency of Automation equipment.
