Job Summary:

The Associate Director, Pricing & Access Strategy will prepare list and Contracting Pricing Strategies for Daiichi Sankyo's in-line and launch products, including both traditional retail channels as well as buy and bill channel for Daiichi Sankyo's evolving Oncology portfolio. Closely monitor impact of pricing decisions on product Average Selling Price (ASP) as appropriate. Pricing Strategies include list price as well as contract strategy pricing to various customer channels including commercial and Medicare Part D payers, Medicaid, GPOs (traditional Hospital and Oncology GPOs), etc.Candidate will also be responsible for negotiating financial terms at the customer level in collaboration with the Daiichi Sankyo account team as well as negotiation of contract language; includes management of commercial contracting activities including language negotiations/redlining, analysis/negotiation of contracted prices, compliance with contractual terms and statutory provisions and recommendations concerning all outlier issues. Partner with various internal stakeholders for the purpose of incorporating corporate/brand guidelines/policies and corporate/brand expectations into all business proposals and contracts. Collaborate with Sr. Director of Pricing & Contract Strategy, Brand team, legal, and other internal functions on creation of list pricing, contracting platforms, and creation of overall strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in/manage pricing strategy development and manage all aspects of customer contracting to ensure corporate and regulatory compliance and performance. Manage/forecast product ASP as appropriate. Includes, but not limited to, creation / recommendation of Pricing and Pricing strategies, preparation and presentation to the US Pricing and Contracting Steering Committee (PCSC), contract offer development, acting as the liaison for the account management team, negotiating terms and conditions, and develop pre & post deal analytics; requires strong collaboration with cross functional teams such as Legal, Brand and Finance. Ensures that contract offerings are in compliance with DSI brand strategies and provides feedback to inform and make recommendations for strategy revisions and future strategies. Collaborate with Finance to ensure appropriate rebate forecasting.
  • Oversee the lifecycle and maintenance of assigned products and/or customer contracts, from the offer development phase and over the course of the customer relationship; work cross functionally with internal groups to ensure appropriate financial impacts, language requirements, pricing policies, etc. Educate senior management on financial implications of these opportunities and how they align to corporate objectives. Utilizing contract performance information and field intel, identify opportunities for potential changes that are either designed to protect current business and/or gain new business opportunities. Proactively provide guidance to brand team & Sr Director - Pricing & Access strategy on opportunities to invest based on Strategic development
  • Manage relationship with Account Management team by providing guidance and direction on contract financial assessments and preparation of PCSC presentations and contract language negotiations for all contract opportunities.
  • Make recommendations to the Director, Pricing &Contract Strategy & Management based upon field intel, market dynamics as well as the regulatory environment by serving as a subject matter expert for DSI regarding managed care contracting. Continually evaluate DSI's US pricing strategies to keep up to date with changes to the regulatory and business environment.
  • Present / train internal stakeholders on the Daiichi Sankyo Pricing and Contract strategies; includes both small groups and large group at venues such as National Leadership Meetings. Inform various internal US and global stakeholders of pricing and contract strategy decisions.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
  • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive relevant experience or commensurate experience required, including:
    • 3- 4 years pharma pricing and Managed Care contracting
      • Strongly preferred: experience with Oncology / Buy & Bill pricing and contracting
  • Understanding of government programs such as Medicaid and Federal Supply Schedule (Covered Drugs) and Public Health Service. Understanding of government pricing requirements (e.g. Best Price and Average Selling Price [ASP
