Summary
With guidance, provides Project Management support to enable planning and execution of operational activities and deliverables (timelines, issues, risks & budget) in one or more Preclinical Development (or Drug Safety and Pharmacometrics) functional (or sub-functional) areas. Contributes to process improvement initiatives of varying scope or complexity.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine, operational Project Management support to assigned function(s) (including use of appropriate planning, tracking and monitoring tools, managing meeting logistics, creation of templates, creation and management of working/best practices, provision of general training support etc.) in order to facilitate standardization and coordination of project deliverables across functions. Follows established policies and procedures for routine work.

• Facilitates the development of integrated project timelines, deliverables and budget forecasts for the assigned function(s) and is accountable to monitor and communicate progress against and/or variances from the agreed plan.

• With guidance, ensures that PCO systems are updated with timely and accurate information.

• Ensures effective communication within and between the assigned function(s) and key individuals.

• Develops good communication and working relationships with line managers and individuals within each function.

• Supports the implementation and use of key planning and tracking tools/approaches used by Preclinical Operations, including use of COMPASS and QlikView, maintaining structure of shared databases, processes for managing user requests, training, security matrices, etc.

• Proposes suggestions on areas for process improvement(s). With guidance, provides input on ideas to resolve the problem, and monitors progress on any agreed solution.

• Participates and provides some support for internal meetings, tools and communications.

• Contributes to best practices, procedures and implementation of key planning and tracking tools and approaches.

• Applies judgment, with input from others to make quality decisions of limited scope or complexity.
Requirements

• BS or MS in a relevant field with at least 2 years of project management experience

• Ability to quickly adapt to new systems or processes.

• Familiar with relevant Project Management tools and software such as MS EXCEL, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS WORD etc

• Basic knowledge of project management techniques and concepts as they apply to the drug development / pharmaceutical industry.
