Job Summary

The US Requisition to Pay Service Owner will serve as the key relationship owner of the BPO and oversee the Procurement Buying Center, Invoice Escalations, Customer Service, Regulatory Reporting and Global Payments areas. This role will be responsible to ensure service delivery is meeting expected requirements and drive a continuous improvement roadmap.

The US Requisition to Pay Service Owner will report to the S2P Operations Director based at Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the BPO relationship, ensuring leadership alignment and key contract objectives are met
  • Conducts a regular cadence of leadership meetings with the BPO to identify issues and resolutions
  • Interfaces with key leadership within Amgen to understand quality of service of the BPO, US requisition to Pay process and identifies opportunities to improve
  • Interacts with Service Delivery managers to identify issues and appropriate resolutions, escalating issues to Senior Leadership as appropriate
  • Oversees continuous improvement initiatives with the BPO and Amgen internal staff
  • Drives stakeholder satisfaction through identifying value add and continuous improvement initiatives with the BPO and Amgen staff
  • Accountable for the timely issuance of payments globally for Amgen
  • Manages support personnel from the BPO and internal Amgen staff in the Procurement Buying Center, Invoice Exceptions, Customer Service, Global Payments and Regulatory Reporting areas
  • Oversees the development and delivery of training and support materials for areas of oversight
  • Participates in S2P Governance meetings, driving actions and continuous improvement in oversight areas
  • Partner with Service Owners, Global Strategic Sourcing and other Leaders to understand requirements and priorities impacting the Source to Pay process
  • Drives process improvement in each of the areas by liaising with Global Strategic Sourcing, Procure to Pay Service Leads, BPO and other functions as required (SOX, Legal, etc.)
  • Ensures compliance to internal and external policies, regulations and laws within the Source to Pay process

 


Basic Qualifications

 

 

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Procurement or Finance experience OR
  • Master's degree and 6 years of Procurement or Finance experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Procurement or Finance experience OR
  • Associate's degree and 10 years of Procurement or Finance experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Procurement or Finance experience AND 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.

 


Preferred Qualifications

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in, business, or any other highly quantitative discipline
  • 8+ years' experience in Procure to Pay processes
  • Experience working for a Global corporation
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills
  • Experience in contract negotiations with third parties
  • Experience in preparing executive communication to include written and oral presentations
  • Experience leading large teams with multiple disciplines within Procurement or Finance
  • Experience in managing stakeholders through change
  • Experience in preparing executive communication to include written and oral presentations
  • Demonstrated experience in process and service management
  • Excellent data-driven problem solving and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution
  • Ability to influence at all levels with a customer facing mindset
  • Ability to take initiative and work within an autonomous environment
