Biosimilars are an important development for Amgen and for patients globally. The opportunity to provide patients with greater access to critical therapies furthers the Amgen mission to serve patients. Quality biosimilar development has a new paradigm, integrating all the science and experience at Amgen developing biologics as well as our quality manufacturing while creatively and rapidly executing a streamlined and efficient data generation program to demonstrate comparability to the originator product.

The Scientific Affairs Director is an expert combining scientific knowledge with medical communications for biosimilars. This Director will report directly to the Executive Medical Director, Biosimilars.

Responsibilities:

Excellent cross-functional coordination within Amgen across therapeutic areas and regions

Strategy and execution of medical communications, RML support, OL education, congress activities, and medical information

Ability to multi-task, overseeing different activities and different projects at the same time

Personal responsibility for delivery of quality output according to timelines

Team work and cross-functional alliance, across Amgen and with vendors

Ability to develop and execute strategies following all compliance, legal, and regulatory

requirements

Develop global scientific affairs strategy

Oversee budget and execution of scientific affairs strategy

Primary responsibility for medical communication content

Develop relationships with biosimilar and therapeutic OLs

Ability to be speaker/presenter for the science of biosimilars

Oversee coordination and expansion as necessary for RML engagement

Coordinate medical communications with emergence of ABP program data and with the publication plan

Coordinate congress activities with other Amgen teams and functions

Coordinate global medical information, including collaboration with corporate communications

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of Scientific Affairs experience

OR

Master's degree and 8 years of Scientific Affairs experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 10 years of Scientific Affairs experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate degree with 7+ years cumulative experience in medical communications, publication support, RML support, and medical information
