Job Summary

The Manufacturing Process Technician will work in a dynamic production environment at the Amgen Thousand Oaks Drug Substance plant supporting development, clinical, and launch activities. Under general supervision, employee will perform operations in the Manufacturing area, specifically B23 Purification processes. Operations will be performed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Job Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on operations, set-up, clean, sanitize and prepare media and buffers per procedures
  • Perform and monitor processes
  • Comply with GMP's
  • Basic troubleshooting
  • Recognize & accurately report problems
  • Assist in the review of documentation for assigned functions (e.g. equipment logs, routine area audits)
  • May participate on cross-functional teams


Basic Qualifications:

Associate's degree and 2 years of Manufacturing or Operations experience

OR

2 years in a technical school setting with hands-on experience

OR

High school diploma/GED and 4 years of Manufacturing or Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Available for non-standard shifts including nights and weekends
  • CFR and Regulatory knowledge
  • Mechanical ability
  • Knowledge of WIP lab equipment and computers, with LIMS access
  • Basic statistical mathematical skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply GMP knowledge
  • Understanding of analytical methods for manufacturing area
  • Ability to understand and apply basic chemistry, biology and physical principles
  • Basic troubleshooting skills on Purification equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a challenging and fast-paced work environment
  • Experience with Delta V / automation
