Senior Director, Commercial Analytics and Operations

Overview

This position is a key member of the HEPLISAV-B leadership team and will lead the commercial function responsible for establishing and maintaining the analytic and sales operations infrastructure for Dynavax. This is a leadership position that will perform and/or oversee business analytics, territory sizing and alignments, forecasting, market research, incentive compensation, commercial planning, data strategy, sale operations and meetings and events.

Responsibilities

• Lead Dynavax's Commercial Analytics and Operations capabilities within the US, including the establishment of teams to lead forecasting, market research, commercial planning, data strategy, sale operations and meetings and events.
• Establish an innovative culture that fosters the development of objective data-driven approaches to commercial analytics and recommendations.
• Deliver market, customer and product insights that are actionable for the HEPLISAV-B leadership team and support the achievement of Dynavax Commercial goals.
• Establish appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that enable Dynavax Commercial Leadership to measure the effectiveness of key investments to drive HELPLISAV-B growth.
• Oversee the commercial data warehouse and master data management plan that enables timely, complete and accurate reporting and analytics.
• Provide continued evolution of field dynamics including field force sizing, account prioritization and incentive compensation design in accordance with overall commercial strategy.
• Maintain long term product forecast to be used for sales targets, financial and commercial supply planning.
• Partner with the Sales, Market Access and Marketing to ensure alignment of Dynavax's US commercialization strategy.
• Ensure market research and commercial leadership partner in the development and measurement of promotional strategies and tactics.
• Sales force empowerment, engagement, effectiveness, and operations
  • Empowerment - reporting and analytics to support the need of field staff to enable the evaluation of their assigned business and customer engagement;
  • Engagement - IC design, special contest, culture;
  • Effectiveness - territory alignments and performance analytics;
  • Operations - Fleet management, meetings and events, CRM.
• Manage marketing analytics and market research.
• Support Market Access with contracting effectiveness, operations, and reimbursement analytics.

Qualifications

• A BS/BA and at least 10 years of marketing or related experience (including sales, finance, forecasting, market research, etc.) in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
• Must have at least 5 years' experience as a senior operations and/or analytics leader in pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Experience designing and building out a commercial function.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead teams and have the managerial courage to make and stand by difficult decisions.
• Highly skilled in influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders and with scientific and commercial teams.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of commercial strategy, opportunity and risks for the Executive Team.
