Summary
The VelociGene team, one of Regeneron's technology centers, is seeking an R&D Specialist to join its efforts in developing CRISPR therapeutics and novel technology platforms to empower disease target identification & validation. This individual is expected to develop, execute, and validate a broad array of cell-based in vitro assays using both primary and established cell lines. Candidates should be highly motivated and able to work independently in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities
1. Evaluation of in vitro delivered CRISPR/Cas9 factors in primary hepatocyte cultures.

2. Mouse embryonic stem cell culture, lentiviral transduction, and stable cell line generation.

3. Isolating and establishing in vitro cultures of primary hepatocytes from mouse liver.

4. Perform biochemical & cellular analyses such as ELISA, SDS-PAGE/Western blotting, microscopy, FACS/flow cytometry, quantitative PCR, DNA/RNA/protein isolation.

5. Injections, blood draws, and mouse tissue isolation.

6. Independently execute experiments, perform required calculations, plan experimental layouts, and scale up or down from existing protocols as necessary.

7. Maintain clear record of work in a laboratory notebook, updated in a timely and comprehensive manner.

8. Present findings at group meetings, and format data for presentation to senior staff.

Requirements
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelors degree in a related field of study with 3+ years of experience, or Masters degree with 2+ years of experience. Candidates who have worked with primary hepatocytes or mouse embryonic stem cells will be given priority. Experience must include:

• Expertise in tissue culture.

• Some prior experience working with mice.

• Attention to detail, good organizational & analytical skills, thoughtful time management, capable of multi-tasking effectively, and demonstrated ability to work independently.
