Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Temp R&D Associate whose responsibilities would include treating animals with medication during the weekend and some weekdays. Weekend work is regular and required. In addition to administering medication, this person will be responsible for other selected procedures to support in-vivo tumor studies.

Responsibilities

Support a larger research team developing cancer immunotherapies. Support multiple preclinical studies evaluating in vivo activity of investigational agents in preclinical tumor models. Function as a liason between research investigators and veterinary staff working in the animal facility.

• Compound administration, which includes pain medication, investigational drugs or other agents, into mice via multiple routes including subcutaneous, intravenous, intra-peritoneal, intramuscular or oral gavage.

• Injection of mouse or human cells or tissues, such as human tumor or blood cells, into mice via subcutaneous, intravenous or other routes.

• Mouse necropsy, post-mortem collection of tumors, organs and tissues

• Blood collection from live animals; bone marrow collection from live animals is preferred but not required.

• Maintaining accurate experimental records.

• Efficient teamwork and communication with multiple investigators, which includes receiving directions and providing updates on working days.
Required skills:
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and experience with:

• Excellent mouse handling techniques

• Excellent intravenous injection techniques

• Experiences with compound administration

• Experiences with mouse blood collection (multiple routes), necropsy, organ and tissue collection

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent organizational and collaborative skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a larger team

• Strong learning attitude, with proven ability to quickly learn and develop new skills and techniques
Preferred skills:

• Experiences with histopathology

• Experiences with rodent survival surgery

• Familiarity with basic biological sciences and small animal research, ability to read and understand research literature
