The Global Compound Logistics and Operations organization (GCLO) within AbbVie manages the inventory, dispersal and logistics of biological and chemical entities used by Discovery and Development scientists for all aspects of Abbvie drug discovery.

AbbVie is seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in Chemistry or Biochemistry to fill the laboratory logistics and collaboration support technician role. This position would be responsible for coordinating the shipment of biologics, biological samples and chemicals both domestically and internationally as well as providing logistics support for external collaborative efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate with fellow GCLO team members to help provide logistics, shipping, compound registration and order fulfillment services to the AbbVie R&D community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining shipping supply inventory
  • Weighing out of compounds on precision balance equipment
  • Utilizing automated pipetters for dilution and plate preparation
  • Small molecule registration support
  • External collaboration order support
  • Entry and maintenance of shipping records
  • Tracking of shipments
  • Preparation of documentation for packing of biological and chemical shipments


  • BS in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in compound management or a related field
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task within an environment of shifting deadlines and demands
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques and practices
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office application suite


  • Experience in shipping and logistics, trade compliance or dangerous goods
  • Familiarity with chemical inventory information systems, and databases
