Summary

Partners with Field Medical leaders to ensure and enable superior scientific exchange with health care professionals. Sits within the Worldwide (WW) Field Medical Excellence & Business Solutions department of WW Medical Capabilities, primary focus is US. Reports to WW FMCL, Deputises WW FMCL on WW projects and drives best practice across Therapy Areas in the US organisation.

Tightly aligned with the WW Field Medical Communication Lead (WW FMCL), US FM lead and US Medical strategy leads to develop and communicate disease and product strategy, content, training, capability measures and special projects.

Feeds US field insights into the WW communication platform for Therapeutic Area (TA)/asset.

Integrated as a strategic member within the US Medical organisation to bridge WW vision with local implementation.

Contribution to Field Medical Strategy, Materials, and Execution

Drives Strategy with WW FMCL and US TA leads on data-related nature of scientific exchange for healthcare provider interactions and Medical Communication Topics (MCTs).

Partners with FM Team Lead in strategic discussions with matrix team to develop the US Field Medical plan and book of work that defines field activities; and informs data and training needs.

Ensures timely resources and training to enable informative scientific exchanges with external health care professionals and internal partners, which accurately reflect the scientific data of the disease area/tumour type. Acts as a field communications expert to initiate and guide other TAs on the implementation of new types of resourcing or training initiatives.

Operationalises key account management (KAM), Field Medical activity recording and health care professional insights tools (CFaST / FIRE), working with business solutions to implement surveys, analyse data and report results. . Actively involved in initiating and driving the resulting actions identified.

Participates in strategic discussions regarding FM clinical trial support activities, facilitates tracking and prioritisation of field efforts in data generation. Orchestrates study training WedExes where required, for US and Co-develops and delivers WW trainings. Accountable for representing US unique market needs to WW FMCL and US Knowledge Transfer members for input into training objectives, content and resources. Represents the success of these efforts to Leadership and wider matrix teams.

Accountable for ensuring all content is reviewed through current processes (i.e. proactive, reactive); responsible for managing content repositories (i.e. SharePoint and MedExchange utilisation). Endeavours to find consistency of approaches employed across content review teams in the US.

Aligns with WW FMCL for international congress coverage assignments and assists with congress planning in the US and International congresses. Ensures effective congress debriefs aligned with Medical team objectives.

Develops objectives, agenda and framework for FM TA meetings, collaborates with FM matrix team on planning and delivery of US national and regional meetings.

Implements WW Field Medical Operations projects in TA, and ensures alignment across FM function. Is able to deputise for the US FM Lead in exceptional circumstances.

Has management and mentoring responsibility for Fellows and temporary workers within the US FM and Capabilities team.

Field Medical Training

Assists WW FMCL with development of the WW FM annual disease/product training plans; adapts to brand lifecycle, competitive landscape and business priorities of the US market; manages training calendar, and facilitates training delivery. Co-develops and assists in the running of WW FM TA face to face meetings.

Partners with the US FM Team Lead to assess key medical competencies and knowledge required to deliver local medical plan objectives and best-in-class HCP interactions (new hires and existing); facilitates and enables US-specific training through a range of channels (e.g. face-to-face, remote and via Success Factors. .

Aligns with WW standards for excellence in understanding and communicating the disease area, compounds, their value and outcomes with healthcare providers; collaborates with WW FMCLs to develop assessments and tools for evaluating training and performance.

Plans Training evolution beyond the current medical planning year and forecasts changes in training needs according to anticipated data releases, product lifecycle and pipeline assets.

FM Value Demonstration

Contributes to the Field Medical community including facilitating best practice sharing across the teams and geographies and countries. Is the primary point of alignment and communication with alliance partners as appropriate.

Established member of the medical leadership team ensuring Field Medical achievements and alignment of the team's efforts are clearly visible to all stakeholders.
