Job Details
Summary: Responsible for accounting and financial systems activities in connection with the Company's biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Rensselaer, New York.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Maintains Oracle OPM/Order Management Systems including pricelists, shipping networks, standard cost recipes, and account derivation rules
• Identifies opportunities, leads, and implements automation and efficiency projects within the accounting department
• Resolves day-to-day system related issues: Oracle General Ledger, OTL, OPM, etc.
• Investigates automation and technology opportunities, such as use of data-warehousing and robotics
• Representative for the accounting group for any systems conversions and testing required
• Liaison with the Company's local and corporate IT departments, meeting regularly with IT teams to champion automation and projects
• Assists in developing and enhancing internal controls and written policies & procedures as well as ensuring all proper internal controls are in place in conformity with Sarbanes-Oxley as they relate to systems
• Participates in a variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports as required and requested
• Responsible for training staff on processes and procedures as required
Knowledge and Skills:
• Strong ability to breakdown information, analyze it, and communicate results
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills are mandatory
• Strong team player who interacts effectively with others, has the ability to think independently, proactively propose solutions, and wants to be challenged and grow
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail are a necessity
Education and Experience:
• Requires BS/BA in Accounting (or similar) with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with ERP systems, preferably in a manufacturing environment; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing environment and knowledge of Oracle OPM and Order Management is a plus, in addition to advanced Excel skills.
