We are looking for a research associate for activities related to Auditory research and the Decibel Collaboration. The ideal candidate is experienced in cell and molecular biology, and willing to master new techniques related to inner ear biology.

- Routine mammalian cell culture including transduction and generating clonal cell lines.
- Basic and advanced molecular biology, including DNA, RNA and protein extraction and purification, cloning of cDNAs, western blots, CRISPR technologies for in vitro applications, and qPCR.
- Microscopy and downstream analysis of results.
- Regular use of software and programs associated with job functions, including Microsoft Office, Prism, ImageJ or other image analysis platform, DNA analysis software, publically available online resources including the UCSC Genome Browser, OMIM and UniProt.
- Able to plan and execute experiments, maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic records/notebooks, communicate between working groups and independently organize daily tasks.

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor or Masters Degree or equivalent and 2+ years of related experience and/or training. Experience should include:
- Knowledge and experience in cell biology techniques and applications.
- Strong molecular biology skills.
- Familiarity with methods of DNA, RNA and protein analysis.
- Comfortable with confocal and brightfield microscopy. Experience with post-acquisition image analysis is preferred.
- Experience with rodent dissections and sample preparation for analysis.
- Work with animals will be required.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and applications is a must.
