Paragon Bioservices is a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) whose focus is the development and manufacturing of cutting-edge biopharmaceuticals. We provide industry-leading GMP development and manufacturing services for cutting-edge biopharmaceuticals such as recombinant viral vectors, next generation vaccines & hard-to-express recombinant proteins and oncolytic viruses. Paragon's scientists, engineers, quality experts, manufacturing operators and program managers are experts working with biologics from research and process development to GMP manufacturing for clinical trials and commercial launch.

The Automation Engineering Intern will support the automation engineering team. That team provides key automation support for various manufacturing systems such as Programmable Logic controllers (PLC), Process Control System (PCS), and Other Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) systems in Manufacturing Operations. Systems will span from OEM's such as Sartorius single use bioreactors to Stick built Water for Injections generation and distribution systems. This role will support the Automation team in capital projects, trouble-shooting automation issues to improve manufacturing performance and maintaining the automation systems in compliance with cGMPs.

This is a 3-month internship and will begin in early June 2019.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Support project execution for equipment and IT system implementation
• On-floor support of manufacturing activities involving hardware and software issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, including development and execution of test scripts.
• Provides client services support for business area applications.

Qualifications/Knowledge:
• Currently enrolled in an Information Technology, Science, or Engineering degree program
• Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) are required
• Great attention to detail leaving no loose ends in workload
• Willingness to think outside of the box and adapt best practices to increase efficiencies
• Ability to adapt in a constantly evolving environment
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility
