Job Details
We are looking for an innovative, experienced and passionate Senior Research Investigator to join the Cardiovascular and Fibrosis Translational Research Group within the Cardiovascular and Fibrosis Discovery Biology Department
The successful candidate should be highly motivated and collaborative with the ability to work on multiple translational projects simultaneously. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated translational research experience as well as experience in liver and lung fibrotic diseases.
Serve as liaison among Discovery, Translational Medicine, Innovative Medicine Development groups, develop program-specific translational strategy/plan.
Collaborate with Discovery Working Groups, Development Clinical Biomarker leads & program leaders and Translational Science group, identify and validate target engagement & pharmacodynamics biomarkers.
Evaluate and implement novel technologies for disease and patient stratification biomarkers hunt
Work independently to design, execute, interpret and document biomarker experiments to support Translational Research discovery programs.
Keep up-to-date on relevant scientific/technical literature in order to applying external knowledge to internal Translational Research programs as appropriate.
Present at multiple Translational, Discovery and Development forums/meetings.
Manage global external collaborations with academic institutions and Contract Research Organizations (CROs).
Requirements
Education: PhD, MD or equivalent degree, preferred postdoc experience
Strong background and expertise in liver and lung Fibrosis Biology is highly preferred
At least 5 years of work experience, preferably within the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry. Preferred experience in Translational Research/Medicine/Development
Experience in managing director reports, as well as leading in a matrix environment
Familiar with RNA/DNA/protein-based Translational biomarker technologies: RNASeq, RNAScope, qPCR, multiplex cytokine/chemokine analysis, Somascan, whole blood flow cytometry analysis, in vitro cell-based assays, ELISA, MSD, western blots, etc.
Experience in translational biomarker data analysis and interpretation in collaboration with Genomics and Bioinformatics scientists is desired.
The ability to support multiple projects in a fast pace and collaborative environment.
Experience in cross-functional team presentation of scientific data is essential.
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in managing collaborations with academic institutions and CROs
