Supervisor, Financial Planning & Analysis

General Position Summary/Purpose:

The Supervisor, Financial Planning & Analysis plays a dynamic role within the Corporate FP&A team. Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, the individual will act as the single point of contact for all FP&A consolidation activities and deliverables including but not limited to financial forecast cycles (e.g. LRP, Plan, LBE), monthly close and join venture processes related to Pharmacyclics' collaboration agreement with Janssen. This role will have high visibility and consistent exposure to the senior management team. The Supervisor of FP&A will have full visibility to the PCYC business and P&L, including the cost share and OUS impact due to the collaboration with Janssen.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to preparation of monthly Actual reporting packages for management, leading weekly finance meeting with Janssen, coordination of all Plan / LRP processes within FP&A, ownership of the JV reporting tool, reconciliation of the intercompany billing process with AbbVie, Balance Sheet forecasts, Capital and HC consolidation and addressing requests from external stakeholders including AbbVie Corporate FP&A, Tax and Audit.

The Supervisor of FP&A should have excellent communication, interpersonal, project management, analytical with attention to detail and time management skills. An in depth understanding of FP&A processes will also be critical to the success of the role.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Plan / LRP process for FP&A, including: calendar & planning guidance, creation & automation of key templates, regular team meetings & corporate submissions
  • Janssen Collaboration support including:
    • Lead weekly Finance Work Group meeting with JBI and distribute minutes
    • Consolidate, review and present to management the quarterly and annual forecast and actuals submissions for JV processes
    • Review and validate the JBI-prepared final presentation of quarterly Actuals and annual forecasts including JU, NU and FBP
    • Prepare quarterly detailed calculations to support FTE dollars charged to JBI and high-level FTE calculation monthly
    • Review and propose closing cost share adjustments each month
    • Maintain the JV Reporting Tool to assist the FP&A team in analyzing JBI performance
  • Own the monthly actuals reporting package & summarize for PCYC management
  • Prepare and submit monthly Actuals reporting commentary to AbbVie for P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Oversee the Inter-company Billing (ICB) process, including reconciliation to the proper PCYC departments
  • Prepare the +/- 5% Quarterly Goal Grading report for operating expenses
  • For all budget cycles, responsible of consolidation of P&L, Balance Sheet, Capital and Head Count
  • Support the quarterly and monthly requirements of Corporate Tax
  • Support all requests from Corporate FP&A, Benefits, Internal and External Auditors
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement and lead initiatives to recommend and implement change
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and project support as required
  • Manage competing assignments and meet multiple deadlines


Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Finance or Accounting
  • MBA / CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A or equivalent
  • Life Sciences industry experience preferred
  • Superb financial modeling and analytical skills with deep attention to detail
  • Excellent project management and time management skills
  • Strong communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Strong collaborative skills with proven success working in matrixed, cross-functional teams
  • Superior financial systems expertise with significant experience working with ERP
  • Knowledge of SAP, Host, and TM1 a plus
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
