Main Job Purpose:

Amgen is seeking a hardworking Software Engineer to build groundbreaking innovative applications that shall be used by our large base of internal clients. The Software Engineer will work as part of the Operations Information Systems (OIS) organization supporting the Operations functions, including Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Facilities & Engineering functions. The position will be based at - Amgen Tampa, FL

Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on development of software applications. Serve as the Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality (VR/AR) Domain Expert on the OIS team.
  • Collaborate with IS business analysts, architects, Information security engineers and business users to design, develop and deploy technology solutions that drive innovation and efficiency across Operations.

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of information systems' experience

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of information systems' experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of information systems' experience

Requirements and Skills:
  • 3 plus years of Unity 3D and Vuforia development experience
  • Ability to work in a distributed, multi-functional team and under minimal technical direction on single & multi-user application development activities
  • Experience with VR/AR software development tools and techniques including: Visual Studio, Xcode, Git Lab
  • Experience with Unreal Engine development experience for the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, HoloLens, and Google Cardboard platforms
  • Experience with 3D computer graphics and model building tools (e.g. Maya, Blender)
  • Experience with highly interactive, immersive applications (i.e. game) design
  • Experience with publishing to application distribution platforms (e.g. App Store, Microsoft Store)
  • Experience with integrating to other applications using OpenGL, SOAP and REST APIs for deployment to iOS, Mac, WebGL, PC, and Universal Windows Platform (UDP) platforms
  • Experience with user authentication technologies (e.g. Okta) and secure application design
  • Experience participating in requirements and solution design workshops with IT and business partners to provide analysis and solution design expertise that align with companies current and future needs
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and verbal/written communication
