Job Details

Known for its scientific and operational excellence, Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. Regeneron commercializes medicines for eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol, atopic dermatitis and a rare inflammatory condition and has product candidates in development in other areas of high unmet medical need, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, pain, cancer and infectious diseases.

Summary
We are seeking a creative and self-motivated scientist to join our team focused on novel therapeutics for genetic disorders, including lysosomal diseases. This person will develop and invent in-house technologies along with Regeneron's unique abilities in the production of antibodies and genetically modified mouse models (VelocImmune, VelociMab and VelociGene) to design, produce, and test novel therapeutics--including protein biologics and gene therapies--for genetic disorders with a high unmet medical need.

Responsibilities

• Think critically and creatively about challenging scientific questions at hand and contribute to innovative solutions

• Design and execution of experiments involving design and construction of novel protein therapeutics, in vitro testing in cell-culture based assays, in vivo testing in mouse models of human disease, as well as design, generation, and validation of new cellular and mouse models

• Develop a deep understanding of the literature surrounding the area of focus, and stay up-to-date on the latest findings

• Communicate and present findings in intra- and inter-departmental meetings, meetings with senior management, at external conferences, in patents, and in scientific manuscripts

• Maintain accurate experimental records, including a detailed lab notebook updated in a timely and comprehensive manner

• Work collaboratively with scientists and research associates throughout the company to drive the science forward
Requirements

• The candidate must have a PhD plus 0-2 years of postdoctoral/industry experience

• Some experience working with animal models is essential

• Familiarity with techniques such as molecular cloning, genome editing/CRISPR, cell culture, histology, ELISA, Elispot, Western blotting, flow cytometry, and confocal microscopy is highly desired

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required

• Ability to both work independently and collaborate with other scientists and research associates is essential

• Excellent publication record is highly desirable

• A background in lysosomal diseases is not required; the willingness to learn the background of a new field is highly desirable

• Research experience in skeletal biology or neuroscience is a plus

This position will require the individual to pass a physical before beginning employment.
