Summary: Manages and provides leadership to a group of quality control employees to support chemistry testing of utility (water/gas) and raw materials samples.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide work planning and technical guidance to lab personnel and technical review.

• Supervises utility/raw material testing.

• Data analysis and review of utility and raw material test results

• Ensures QC Analysts receive proper training.

• Attends meetings to keep informed of testing priorities.

• Ensures that safety standards are maintained.

• Ensures compliance with applicable cGMP regulations and SOPs.

• Investigates atypical test results, and co-manage quality system for monitoring OOS results, atypical results and invalid tests.

• Provide information to investigators as needed during regulatory audits

• Performs personnel management functions including time sheet submissions, scheduling of vacations, personnel development, and performance evaluations.

• Provide support to the Scientist(s) performing assay development and validation.

Experience and Required Skills:

• Requires BS/BA in Chemistry, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

• Minimum of 6 years of progressive, relevant experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

• Supervisory/leadership experience required.

Level to be determined based upon experience.
