Summary:
The Associate Director will review and synthesize published literature as well as design, conduct, interpret, and report epidemiologic queries and studies to inform, support, and strengthen global development and commercialization activities for Regeneron products.
Job Duties:
• Generate real-world evidence to inform clinical development and life-cycle management;
• Interact with internal stakeholders to assess evidence needs and assist in development of real-world evidence plans to address knowledge gaps;
• Review, appraise and synthesize epidemiological literature;
• Advise on feasibility and limitations of using of real-world data sources to address knowledge gaps;
• Develop protocols and statistical analysis plans for epidemiologic queries and studies;
• Conduct and oversee execution of analyses of large electronic healthcare databases;
• Effectively communicate literature results and findings from queries and study results to internal stakeholders;
• Disseminate real-world evidence in compliance with company, industry, and regulatory requirements;
• Drive the incorporation of real-world data as well as epidemiology methods and perspectives into global development strategies;
• Identify and maintain successful research relationships with key opinion leaders and thought leaders; partner effectively with external experts as needed;
• Maintain an up-to-date awareness of regulatory guidances and communications that may impact planning for and implementation of real-world evidence strategies/studies;
• Collaborate with Alliance partners on epidemiologic studies and deliverables; build and maintain constructive and productive relationships across Alliance.
Requirements:
• Ph.D. in epidemiology, public health, health services research or related field with 2+ years academic, pharma/biotech, or consulting experience;
• Experience with designing and drafting observational study protocols and statistical analysis plans using large electronic healthcare databases (e.g. Truven MarketScan, EMRs);
• Advanced knowledge of statistical methods commonly used in the analysis of large electronic healthcare databases (e.g. survival analysis, propensity scores); knowledge of AI/machine learning is a plus;
• Experience programming with statistical software packages such as SAS or R; experience with rapid analytics platforms such as IHD or Aetion is a plus;
• Ability to conduct literature review, critical appraise individual studies, and summarize findings;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required;
• Ability to work cross-functionally and interact with and present to internal stakeholders, including senior management;
• Effectively represent Regeneron to external stakeholders;
• Solid understanding of overall business strategy;
• Experience across a range of therapeutic areas a plus;
• Proactive and able to work independently;
• Proven team-working skills;
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
