The Information Analyst will support one of our global biopharmaceutical Scientific Intelligence and Information teams’ therapeutic projects with an emphasis on delivering information analysis and insight for their research organization.  The candidate should have a good working knowledge of supporting an innovative research and discovery environment and have a strong information science / data analytics background. With a data driven focus, the candidate will be an expert in scientific information analysis and visualisation, aligning closely with the business to ensure information is turned into actionable outcomes that can drive the organisation forward.

The candidate will partner with internal clients to understand their information needs, identify appropriate resources, conduct subject matter investigation, evaluate results and provide the most relevant scientific literature and business information that will enable the team to translate information into insights. This position is located in the greater Boston, MA area and will require regular visits to the local client site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scientific literature, patent and business information searches
  • Gather, analyze and interpret data from internal and external information sources; present findings and relevant insights to stakeholders
  • Organize, prepare and deliver targeted results from multiple information sources in visualized formats using tools or platforms like SpotFire/Tableau/Pipeline Pilot
  • Interface with internal clients to determine research requirements and represent scientific expertise at the inter-departmental level
  • Evaluate and recommend new information sources that might enhance the team’s strategy
  • Support strategic development of the departmental strategy and broader organizational initiatives
  • May be accountable for other results and activities as assigned. (This must be on every Job Description company-wide)

  • Life Sciences experience required
  • MLS / MLIS required
  • 3 - 5 years experience working in a scientific discipline preparing and presenting information analysis
  • Proficient in information science/data science principles and techniques
  • Experience working within therapeutic project teams, supporting expert search activities and information monitoring
  • Experience with commercial tools or platforms like SpotFire/Tableau/Pipeline Pilot, and research techniques to support information monitoring, research, delivery and visualization
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Expertise in business and information analysis and the ability to create complex data queries
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret large data sets and communicate insights with clarity
  • A knowledge of machine learning approaches desirable (ex. data mining, predictive analytics)
  • Self-driven to maintain competitive expertise in the information analyst field
  • Able to communicate effectively in a matrix environment and work well within a dynamic, team-oriented group
  • Ability to travel regularly by car to the client site in the greater Boston area and CCC’s Danvers, MA headquarters
