Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Research Specialist with strong expertise in biochemical and biophysical protein and antibody characterization to join the Antibody Engineering and Technologies Group within the Biotherapeutics Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in the discovery and development of antibody and fusion-protein based therapeutics in the immuno-oncology field. She/he will work cross-functionally within the Biotherapeutic Department and as part of multi-disciplinary project teams, and will take a leading role in experimental design, execution, and in communicating results.

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Designing and executing biophysical and biochemical assessments of antibodies and proteins using techniques such as SPR, BLI and immuno-based assays.
• Supporting the engineering and development of novel antibody and fusion-protein therapeutics by employing molecular biology, biochemistry, and structural biology.
• Scientific leadership to aid in development of novel techniques to asses and engineer protein/antibody-based therapeutics
• Analyze, interpret and communicate scientific data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field plus 5 - 10 years relevant experience, preferably in an industry setting. (Level commensurate with experience).
• Extensive hands on experience with protein binding assays (Biacore, ForteBio Octet, ELISA) is a must.
• Experience with protein/antibody purification, conjugations and related analytics is highly desired.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and small-scale transfection for production is a plus.
• Good understanding of antibody discovery technologies (in vitro display, rodent immunizations) is a plus.
• Experience in antibody engineering is desirable but not essential.
• Working knowledge of Flow cytometry is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) is required.
