Amgen is searching for a Manager, Pricing and Contracting to join our US Pricing & Contracting (SPC) team. This Manager is integral to Amgen's financial sales performance and will lead pricing and contracting activities for Amgen's Nephrology customers. The Manager will serve as SPC's focal point for contracts and pricing for both internal and external stakeholders. This role reports to the Director of Contracts and Pricing and will be based out of our Thousand Oaks Campus. In this role, you will be responsible for developing contracting and pricing strategies and facilitate pricing and contracting decision-making by senior leadership. You will also coordinate the implementation of contracts. Additionally, you will be responsible to provide ownership of the quarterly discount estimates for Nephrology products.

Key responsibilities of this role include:
  • Manage the pricing and contracting process in conjunction with Nephrology stakeholders
  • Provide quarterly financial discount rate estimates
  • Ensure accuracy of all financial analytics
  • Participate in the development and maintenance Nephrology pricing and contracting strategies
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Nephrology market.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, OCT, customers, Legal, and SPC teams as necessary
  • Support ad-hoc requests by senior leadership for product and/or customer related business analytics and strategy


Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Master's degree and 2 years of Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology Sales and Marketing OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology Sales and Marketing OR
  • Associate's degree and 10 years of Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology Sales and Marketing OR
  • High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology Sales and Marketing


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (i.e. MBA or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of experience solving complex business problems and managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Sales and Marketing experience
  • Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and leadership experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Previous experience providing and delivering information for decision making by executive management
  • Ability to read and understand complex legal contract documents
