The Clinical Oncology Specialist (COS) position is a strategic clinical role that results in appropriate utilization of Amgen Oncology products. The COS interacts through clinical expertise and partnership with key customers with a focus on consistent identification of appropriate patients. In close collaboration with Sales Representatives, the COS affects territory sales by executing a Plan of Action (POA) marketing strategy as directed by the Manager of Clinical Oncology Specialists (MCOS) and deployed by District Managers including but not limited to: delivering branded sales messages, executing strategic activities, scheduling and implementing clinical education programs, and achieving or exceeding sales goals. Primary customers include nurses and Advanced Practitioner prescribers including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Secondary customers include physicians and pharmacists. Additional responsibilities include providing support to Sales Representatives with Office Managers and Reimbursement Coordinators, providing feedback on marketing strategies, reviewing sales activity, and participating in territory analysis.

Candidates have excellent communication and presentation skills, are strategic and forward thinking, effectively work in teams and are autonomous self-starter, experience in business analysis and have a command of Oncology and Healthcare business trends. Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Oncology Nursing / Clinical experience


Associate's degree and 6 years of Oncology Nursing / Clinical experience


High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Oncology Nursing / Clinical experience


RN or Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's or Bachelor's Degree and RN with 3 or more years health care industry experience OCN/OCS Certified, Nursing Certification in applicable field preferred and 2 years of Sales experience

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in positions such as Oncology Infusion nurse, BMT nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. She/he should demonstrate oncologic clinical/medical expertise, effective partnership with sales force, and excellent communication and presentation skills. Local market knowledge is also preferred. This position requires driving and extensive travel.
