Job Details

Purpose of the Position:

This position based in Milford, MA, implements and supports a Process Safety Management (PSM) system for operations in Milford, MA and Cincinnati, OH. As a key EHS position, the incumbent will also assist with the development, implementation, and support of related policies and procedures as required. Travel to the Cincinnati, OH site is required and would be expected to average twice per quarter.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates employee engagement through task-based risk assessments, cross-functional meetings, Gemba walks, etc.
  • Compiles and maintains Process Safety Information (PSI), such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), etc., ensuring it remains up-to-date by working with various cross-functional departments.
  • Facilitates Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) exercises with cross-functional teams using techniques such as what if analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Hazard and Operability Study (HazOp).
  • Reviews and revises operating procedures for EHS considerations working with cross-functional teams.
  • Develops and presents training sessions on relevant topics for employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Manages the EHS Management of Change (MOC) program, including review of EHS impact of changes, and cross-functional team review of changes.
  • Manages Contractor Safety program, including facilitation of task and project-based risk assessments, and oversight for small construction projects.
  • Manages Mechanical Integrity program, collaborating with in-house Facilities and Manufacturing groups.
  • Manages Hazardous (Hot) Work program, including issuance of work permits.
  • Facilitates incident investigations in cross-functional teams to document root causes and corrective and preventative actions.
  • Conducts audits of facilities and site operations to ensure compliance with the PSM system.
  • Facilitates Pre-startup Safety Review (PSSR) for new and modified equipment and processes.
  • Coordinates emergency planning and response programs.

Job Knowledge Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience developing and managing an OSHA-compliant Process Safety Management (PSM) system according to 29 CFR 1910.119.
  • Minimum Bachelors degree in engineering or related science field, Masters degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Massachusetts Hazardous Materials Processing regulations (commonly referred as 527 CMR 33).
  • Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Physical Job Requirements:
  • Able to manually handle materials up to 50 lbs, including lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing, crouching, grasping, kneeling, etc.
  • Able to wear a respirator (full-face air-purifying, including powered air)
  • Able to hear and talk
  • Sufficient visual acuity (with or without correction) to drive vehicles and powered industrial trucks
  • Passenger drivers license required
  • Able to travel by air to Cincinnati, OH approximately one week per month
