Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.

Limited relocation housing and/or miscellaneous allowance may be available for eligible candidates (use for formal program or by request of business) OR Relocation in the form of a miscellaneous allowance will be provided for eligible candidates (use for all others).

This intern position gives you a unique opportunity to work as part of a fun and innovative engineering team at Amgen's latest world class facility, located in Tampa Florida. We use many of the cutting edge open-source software, frameworks, tools, and cloud computing services within the platforms to build next generation capabilities and services in Data Management, Data Analytics, Search, NLP and AI. This is an ideal opportunity if you are passionate and enthusiastic on developing a career in Product management in the fields of Big Data, Analytics, and AI.

Key Activities include:
  • Assist with projects/products in an Agile framework focusing on measurable, value added deliverables
  • Assist with daily scrum activities, modify user stories for backlog management and sprint planning, create sprint demo materials etc.
  • Assist in clear product/project communication to all stakeholders regarding scope, timelines, issues, revisions etc.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external business stakeholders
  • Develop basic understanding of core business problems and identify opportunities to use advanced analytics
  • Assist in enhancing current product capabilities and drive continuous improvement


Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Graduated with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion as a first year graduate student before internship starts and currently enrolled in a Master's program for a Masters internship from an accredited college or university

Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree concentration(s) in MIS, statistics/mathematics, engineering, predictive analytics or data science
  • Quantitative and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to translate data to meaningful conclusions and recommendations to business clients
  • Effectively communicate concepts, tools and techniques
  • Experience or Knowledge of Agile Product Management Lifecycle and Agile Project Management tool(s)
  • Experience or Knowledge of Cloud technologies would be a plus
  • Experience or Knowledge of Data management technologies like Hadoop, Teradata or Oracle is a plus
  • Experience or Knowledge of Data Analytical technologies like Tableau or Spotfire is a plus
