Job Details
Fate Therapeutics is seeking a dedicated, highly organized and motivated research associate with a strong background in cell culture. This individual will be part of a team responsible for generating engineered induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and deriving hematopoietic lineage cells to support internal programs and external collaborations. This is a full-time, bench-level position reporting to the Scientist, iPSC Core and is located at the Company’s corporate headquarters in San Diego, California.
Responsibilities
- Culture human iPSCs
- Contribute to engineering iPSCs to support internal programs and collaborations
- Differentiation of iPSCs to hematopoietic cells
- Flow cytometry analysis of iPSCs and differentiated cells
- Cryopreservation of iPSCs and differentiated cells
- Isolation of genomic DNA, RNA
- Data collection, analysis, and detailed record keeping
- Coordination with team members and internal research groups
- Presentation of data within the team and with internal research groups
Qualifications
- B.S./M.S. in cell biology, molecular biology or related field plus 2+ years hands-on laboratory experience
- Extensive experience in sterile cell culture techniques of mammalian cells
- Experience in flow cytometry
- Experience in isolation of genomic DNA, RNA
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a goal-oriented team
- Excellent communication (both written and oral), time management, record keeping and data analysis skills
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Will require working with cells and cell lines of human and/or animal origin
- Will require working with hazardous materials
- 100% on-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA
- Evening and weekend work as necessary
