Summary
The Bioassay Group in the Therapeutic Proteins Department seeks a highly motivated and passionate Research Associate to join a fast-paced, dynamic group involved in cell-based assay development and high-throughput screening in early oncology and immunology drug development. The ideal candidate should have experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting bioassays for small molecules, biologics, and/or antibody drug conjugates. Additional experience running immune cell functional assays such as T-cell proliferation, T cell cytotoxicity, cytokine release assays is required. Strong multitasking and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across groups in a fast-paced team environment is essential.
Responsibilities
1) Develop, optimize, and execute cell-based assays in 96 and 384 well formats (viability/cytotoxicity, luciferase reporter, membrane potential, and internalization assays)
2) Screen small molecules, biologics, and antibody drug conjugates for functional activity using cell-based assays in 96 and 384 well formats
3) Cell culture of adherent/non-adherent immortalized cell lines and human primary cells
4) Cell line engineering through lentiviral or other transfection techniques
5) Flow cytometry acquisition and analysis both for immune cell identification and expression profiling, and for the generation of antibody binding curves
6) Operate a variety of instruments including but not limited to iQue, Accuri C6 cytometer, Cytoflex, Opera Phenix, ImageXpress micro XL, Victor, Envison, Ensight, FLIPR, Perkin Elmer Health Sciences MicroBeta M2 scintillation plate reader, and Hamilton STAR
7) Provide Weekly presentations/verbal updates
Requirements
1. Bachelors (5+ years) or Masters (2+ years)
2. Experience working with human blood cells
3. Strong aseptic cell culture skills
4. Flow cytometry expertise
5. Immunofluorescence staining
6. Cell-based bioassay development and screening in 96-well or 384-well plates
7. Isolation/separation of distinct immune cell population from whole blood
8. Excellent communicator
9. Ability to multi-task on several different projects
10. Exceptional organization, multi-tasking, and record keeping skills
