Position Overview

Nektar Therapeutics is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Summer Intern to join our Biologics Analytical Development group in our San Francisco, CA office.

Through this exciting opportunity, Interns will gain valuable work experience to supplement their education. The successful candidate will work with various analytical methods/techniques/instrumentations in support of NKTR-214.


The Intern will be responsible for conducting routine and non-routine analysis of drug substance as well as its variants according to standard operating procedures. Maintains accurate and well-organized Electronic laboratory notebook, compiles data for documentation of test procedures, and prepares reports. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Performs data analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving.


At a minimum, applicants should have completed one year of Ph.D study in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry or chemical biology. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus. Must have a demonstrated working knowledge of scientific principles. Practical experience in liquid chromatography, and/or mass spectrometry, or other analytical techniques on proteins is required. Good oral and written communication skills are required. Good computer and documentation skills are essential. Must be well organized and willing to work as part of a team.

This is a paid internship opportunity, however, there is no relocation offered.
