Known for its scientific and operational excellence, Regeneron is a leading science-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions. Regeneron commercializes medicines for eye diseases, high LDL-cholesterol, atopic dermatitis and a rare inflammatory condition and has product candidates in development in other areas of high unmet medical need, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, pain, cancer and infectious diseases.

Regeneron is currently seeking a talented and motivated Research Associate/Research Specialist to join a technology development group which aims to develop novel viral vectors. The successful candidate should have a strong background working in vivo with rodent models, specifically mice. Experience working with Adeno-associated virus (AAV) or in vivo tumor models is a plus. Incumbent should be able to work methodically and with minimal supervision. His/her main goal will be to characterize novel AAV viral vectors in vivo by designing, executing and analyzing studies in mice to determine the biodistribution of engineered vectors in various mouse models, using a variety of assays to measure infection such as bioluminescent imaging, immunohistochemistry, and qPCR.
Specific experience should include mouse handling, various injection techniques, and basic molecular biology. Mammalian cell culture experience is a plus.

In his/her role within the team, the incumbent will have to:
1. Manage, organize and prepare working stocks of candidate viral vectors in BLS2 cell culture for in vivo studies
2. Dose mice with viral vectors and/or other treatments via tailvein injection, IP, IM, or SubQ route
3. Monitor infection through in vivo bioluminescent imaging or by blood draws and serum collections
4. Collect biological samples from infected mice through dissections; process samples appropriately for downstream analysis (immunohistochemistry, qPCR, RNAScope)
5. Perform basic biochemical/immunological assays (ELISA, flow cytometry)
6. Perform basic molecular biology assays (Cloning, Western blotting, DNA/RNA extractions, PCR, RT-PCR, quantitative PCR, etc.)
7. Analyze and present data
8. Maintain lab supplies and help with lab organization

Animal handling, animal injections (specifically tailvein), bleeds and serum collection, dissection techniques, bioluminescent imaging, virology, basic molecular biology/biochemistry, cell biology, ELISAs

- Incumbent must have experience in working with mice, specifically injecting compounds via various routes of injection (tailvein is important)
- Incumbent should be skilled in designing well-controlled experiments that can provide reliable results
- Incumbent should be able to analyze data and extract conclusions
- Experience with mouse dissections and tissue analysis by various methods is desired
- Incumbent should have experience with basic safety procedures and sterile techniques required for BSL2 laboratory function
- A general understanding of microbiology and general immunology is preferred
- Understanding of and experience with in vitro assays with viral vectors will be a distinct advantage

Minimum 3 years of research experience.
Minimum educational requirement: Bachelor's Degree; Master's degree desired.
