Summary: Manage a team focused on analytical method lifecycle for transition from clinical to commercial labs within the Analytical Sciences team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lead a team responsible for supporting early phase analytical method lifecycle, including development and optimization of release and stability methods for biopharmaceuticals (e.g. HPLC, SEC, total protein, charge variant analysis, electrophoresis)

• Work with internal customers to ensure methods are performing as designed and analytical results support the business and manufacturing needs

• Manage timelines and project deliverables for transfer of analytical methods to commercial QC labs in support of process validation and product development

• Deliver results within the timelines necessary to support manufacturing decisions regarding risk and root cause for individual investigations

• Establish and maintain metrics to improve turnaround times and improve efficiency within the laboratory

• Participate in cross functional teams as necessary to support method investigations

• Authors and reviews reports for analytical methods, as well as executes experiments to support development or qualification activities as needed

• Attends meetings to stay informed of clinical development needs and priorities

• Ensures lab personnel receive proper and prompt training with a focus on continuous improvement

• Ensures that lab safety standards are maintained

• Performs personnel management functions including monthly meeting with direct reports, weekly time sheet approval, scheduling of vacations, professional development, and performance evaluations

Education and Experience:

• BS in chemistry, biology or related field with 5+ years' laboratory experience in analytical development; previous experience in a supervisory/leadership capacity is required.
