Amgen is seeking an Associate Scientist to join our team and work from Amgen's beautiful Cambridge Ma, campus. To learn more about this position:

Duties

Analyze protein products with advanced analytical methods including chromatography, mass spectrometry and spectroscopy techniques for in-process testing, product and process characterization and comparability testing for late-stage protein pharmaceuticals

Contribute to development, optimization and troubleshooting of analytical methods, participate in qualification, transfer and validation experiments with a focus on carbohydrates and peptide mapping

Other duties include data analyses, maintenance of electronic notebook records of experimental data, participation in authoring of technical protocols and reports, and presentation of results in internal meetings

Basic Qualifications

Master's degree & 2 years of scientific experience

OR

Bachelor's degree & 4 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

MS in Biochemistry or Biophysics or closely related field

2+ years of experience in industrial analytical laboratories supporting characterization of protein therapeutics

Advanced technical expertise in bioanalytical and physicochemical methodologies used to characterize protein therapeutics (e.g., HPLC, UPLC, and electrophoresis)

Experience in liquid chromatography in application to monoclonal antibodies and fusion proteins, including IC, SEC, CEX, RP and HILIC

Previous experience in mass spectrometry-based methods will be a plus

Working knowledge of data processing and analysis tools in Excel and other statistical software

Hands on experience with method qualifications and transfers, including carbohydrate analysis and peptide map methods

Experience with LC, MS and CE instruments handling and troubleshooting

Ability to work efficiently in a matrix team environment and collaborate

Good written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and electronic lab notebook (ELN)
