Amgen is searching for a Key Account Senior Manager (KAM) for our U.S. Business Operations (USBO). The KAM will assess and diagnose the current business environment in each key account in relation to Amgen Nephrology products and plan actions required for success in these accounts.

Key responsibility for the Key Account Senior Manager include:
  • Assess and diagnose the current business environment in each key account in relation to Amgen Nephrology products and plan actions required for success in these accounts.
  • Develop and implement in partnership with District Manager, a comprehensive business plan to gain adoption of Amgen Nephrology products.
  • These plans include comprehensive account profiles, business strategies, competitive intelligence for each account, current resources being utilized, new resources to be implemented, action plan for key personnel, timelines for execution of above, and follow-up action steps to ensure compliance, and coordination procurement of all available resources.
  • Primary customers include executive management (CEO, CFO, CMO, Director of Pharmacy Services, and Mid-Level Management of LDO's).
  • Facilitate account management by coordinating selling activities and customer interactions through effective leadership, communication and implementation with field sales staff to ensure appropriate customer needs are met.
  • Implements approved plans and monitors plan execution against targets
  • Develop and implements business reviews of key accounts on at least a quarterly basis with RSDs
  • Participates in other projects as assigned by management.
  • Frequent Travel and driving as needed (up to 50% of time).


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of sales experience

OR

Master's degree and 4 years of sales experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of sales experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Sales experience

OR

High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Sales experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advance degree (e.g. MPH, MBA, PharmD, etc.)
  • 10+ years of healthcare sales and/or marketing experience or related experience in buying processes and decision making
  • Dialysis, Hospital and contracting experience preferred
  • Reimbursement/managed care experience preferred
  • Strong business acumen and analysis skills
  • Demonstrated track record of success
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, which include networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation and written and verbal communication.
  • A solid understanding of the current environment and trends in Nephrology
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a focus on influence, impact and leading without authority
  • Ability to understand and identify key staff and departments that influence decision-making for biopharmaceutical product utilization within each key account, then maintain and grow relationships with these key decision makers within the accounts
  • Ability to identify and procure appropriate Amgen resources to achieve account objectives.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and draw insights from clinic economics/financial performance.
