The Drug Product Technologies department at Amgen is seeking a highly talented student for a 6-month co-op opportunity. The co-op will participate in research activities focused on the development of non-aqueous solvents for small-molecule APIs. High-throughput techniques will be utilized to prepare the solvents and the properties of the solvents will be assessed using various analytical techniques, including but not limited to dynamic light scattering, rheology, calorimetry. The co-op will be trained on the use of the instruments and on data analysis. Once trained, the co-op will be expected to independently conduct experiments, generate and analyze data, prepare a technical report, and present findings at a department meeting.

Basic Qualifications

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:

18 years or older

Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent

Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing

Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's or Combined Bachelor's/Master's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university

Must not be employed at the time the internship starts

Preferred Qualifications

Degree concentration(s) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering or related field

Previous lab experience

Prior co-op experience
