Development Supply Chain (DSC) is responsible for Amgen's complex and dynamic clinical trial supply globally. The scope of the organization includes demand and supply planning, sourcing, manufacturing and distribution logistics to ensure efficient supply of clinical product to patients around the world. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will lead initiatives, perform analysis and support advancing Operations strategy.

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage, lead or support a portfolio of complex projects and portfolio of cross-functional strategic initiatives that drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Apply Industrial Engineering/Lean Six Sigma tools and principles to address business process problems and design new processes to achieve results
  • Facilitate problem-solving and Work-Out sessions to lead teams to address issues
  • Assist in implementing and supporting OE tools such as: Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Controls, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen events, Mistake-proofing, Standard Work / Leader Standard Work and Daily Management Systems
  • Conduct project scoping and chartering, define execution strategy, and guide project completion
  • Develop recommendations, drive decisions, and deliver presentations to key stakeholders
  • Assist in the implementation of an effective change management process for projects
  • Perform manufacturing capacity and scenario analysis using analytics and simulation tools
  • Leverage network and relationships to identify business requirements and potential opportunities


Basic Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree

• Master's degree and 2 years of Life Sciences, Engineering, Operations directly or related experience OR

• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Life Sciences, Engineering, Operations directly or related experience OR

• Associate's degree and 10 years of Life Sciences, Engineering, Operations or directly related experience OR

• High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Life Sciences, Engineering, Operations or directly related experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or MS in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or other engineering disciplines with 5 years of experience in Operations/life science
  • Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain, drug development, and manufacturing processes
  • Leader with a demonstrated ability to develop and work in a high-performing environment
  • Experience in applying Lean Six Sigma tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Controls, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen events, Mistake-proofing, Standard Work / Leader Standard Work and Daily Management Systems
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate across various parts of the organization
  • Function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives
  • Ability to operate in a matrixed team in an ever-changing environment
  • Adept in breaking down complex issues into concise analytical packages and executive messages to enable prompt decision making
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative skills including financial and supply chain analysis
  • Develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use judgment to draw conclusions
  • Ability to manage a two to three projects simultaneously while consistently delivering quality end-product. Handle multiple responsibilities, priorities and tasks with minimal direction
  • Strong interest in learning new things, ability to take on tasks with limited information and/or guidance. Must be able to learn and become proficient in Analytics and programming tools such as Python, R, Tableau, and Spotfire
